Kerala’s COVID-19 count is inching towards the 2.50 lakh mark as 7,871 new cases were added on Tuesday. Along with Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh, Kerala is among the states who account for 77% of the total active cases in the country, according to the Union health ministry.
State health minister KK Shailaja said, “Even as Kerala hopes that tough mitigation measures may succeed in flattening the curve by October-end, a failure to do so might make the state the most vulnerable COVID-19 hotspot in India.”
Kerala now has the second-highest rate of increase in covid cases and the third-highest number of active cases – 84,497 as of Sunday evening.

I was one of very very few who was calling Kerala Model a myth from July itself. I had called Malappuram & Kozhikkode as district of concern and many mocked me & some called me jealous of Commie govt in state & today i stand vindicated. #PrayForKerala
