Akali Dal MP Naresh Gujral wrote to Home Minister Amit Shah narrating his ordeal on how his own calls for a rescue mission for friends in danger in Maujpur were unheard by Delhi Police.
He also added that his friends made it out safely because Hindu neighbours helped.

Delhi has been under the scanner of communal violence and 35 people have lost their lives, while the property of people has been damaged on a large scale in the Northeast area.
Hundreds of people have become homeless and have to take shelter in safe places. All these have affected normal life very badly and people are facing a lot of problems. The Delhi government has decided to provide relief to violence-affected areas.
After this incident came to light, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed for peace. At the same time, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval visited the violence-affected areas twice on Wednesday.
Apart from this, the Chief Minister of Delhi also visited the areas of North-East. According to Delhi Police, so far 18 FIRs and 106 people have been arrested in the case of violence.
Also, in a recent, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced 10 lakh compensation for the deceased kin.
