Nearly 3,000 aspirants appeared for the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) entrance test conducted by the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Sunday, May 26. All does not seem to have gone well as paper for the examination was leaked.
Reportedly, a contract employee and a grade IV worker of the university transported the question paper to the leader of a solver-gang and a party person. The police have detained four in the case.
According to a Live Hindustan report, 15 minutes before the end of the examination, when the question papers of the absentees were collected, one paper was found to be missing. Once, one of the accused Firoz Alam alias Raja came in front of the administration, it was learnt that photograph of the question paper was taken from mobile and was sent on WhatsApp. A group IV employee according to the report entered the Examination Room with the excuse of offering water to the students, during which he allegedly stole the question paper placed for an absentee student and gave it to Firoz Alam, following which pictures of the paper were taken and send to solvers with the help of WhatsApp.
Registrar AMU IPS Abdul Hamid said the matter is under investigation. If it gets confirmed that the question paper has reached other centres through Whatsapp, then the exam will stand cancelled. If an attempt has been made to leak papers in Aligarh only then the examination for the centres in AMU will be cancelled, a fresh examination will be taken. The next step will be decided once the investigation report is received on Monday.
