New Delhi: Dr Aijaz Ilmi, a media panelist with the BJP since January 2014, resigned from the party on Monday through his Twitter handle. Aijaz is the brother of journalist-turned-politician Shazia Ilmi.
Here’s some facts about Aijaz Ilmi:
Ilmi is Chairman of the editorial board of Daily Siyasat Jadid, one of the oldest Urdu news daily of India founded in 1953.
He holds an MBBS degree in internal medicine from Bangalore University.
He is a well known political analyst and columnist in national and international media.
A regular columnist with The Indian Express.
He was a political analyst for News X, a prominent English News Channel.
He also has set up two K-12 schools with one of India’s prominent educational groups.
Doctor Ilmi has represented India at various international meets as media delegates.
He has represented our country to the European Union Parliament, U.K, Germany, US, Russia, Iran, and Vietnam on a range of issues.
Aijaz also has represented the Indian media delegation accompanying the Prime Minister on foreign trips since 1994.
