That incident left many feeling gutted, prompted CINTAA and the Producers’ Guild to take action against Alok Nath as well. Pretty soon, actresses Sandhya Mridul and Deepika Amin shared their experiences of being sexually harassed by Alok Nath, who they claim is a known offender and a ‘drunkard’. Clearly, Babuji can’t keep his alcohol down.
Alok Nath has found an unlikely ally. Ashita Dhawan, who played Alok Nath’s daughter-in-law in Star Plus’s popular show Bidaai, has come forth in the actor’s support.
While talking to the media, she claimed that the accusations are baseless and the victim should have spoken up right after the alleged incident occurred. According to her, there is no point in getting all this up after 20 years. Ashita also added that she and her fellow cast members of the show never experienced anything of that sort from Alok Nath’s end.
Meanwhile, veteran comedian and actor, Asrani, has termed the #MeToo campaign as a publicity stunt and dismissed it completely.
