Actor Tamannaah Bhatia Summoned in Illegal IPL Streaming Case: According to sources, Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell for questioning regarding the illegal streaming of IPL matches.

It is also reported that Sanjay Dutt’s name has also emerged in connection with this case. The actress has been asked to appear for questioning on April 29.

A date was set for him to appear for questioning earlier this week, but due to his schedule, he was unable to appear and asked for a new date.

“Maharashtra Cyber summons actor Tamannaah Bhatia for questioning in connection with the illegal streaming of IPL 2023 on Fairplay App that caused loss of Crores of Rupees to Viacom. She has been asked to appear before Maharashtra Cyber on 29th April,” ANI shared on X.

“Actor Sanjay Dutt was also summoned in this connection on 23rd April but he had not appeared before them. He had, instead, sought a date and time for recording his statement and said that he was not in India on the date,” they added.

FairPlay’s subsidiary app of Mahadev’s betting app is allegedly promoted and endorsed by Tamannaah and Sanjay.

More than 20 influencers who endorsed FairPlay on various platforms are also expected to be summoned to testify soon.

In September 2023, Viacom18 complained that they possessed the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to stream IPL matches, according to the Times of India.

Viacom18 lost over Rs 100 crore due to the illegal streaming of matches by the betting app Fair Play platform.

As a result of the FIR, several stars, including Badshah, Sanjay Dutt, Jacqueline Fernandez and Tamannaah, were questioned. An employee of the betting app was arrested in December 2023.
