Autopsy report in the Alwar lynching case has been released and it came out that the victim sustained 12 injury marks all over the body and fractured arms, a hand, a leg and ribs bones. The post-mortem report states ’cause of death in this case is shock as a result of ante-mortem injuries sustained over body mentioned in PMR.’ The report has been submitted to the investigating team for further examinations.

According to sources, the 28-year-old farmer along with his companion was crossing through a field with two cows when the mob spotted them and tortured Rakbar Khan as his companion managed to flee away from the spot. The mob had handed Rakbar Khan to the police after slightly assaulting him.

Later developments in Alwar lynching case came as a shock when on Tuesday morning an image of Rakbar Khan floated on the internet going viral where he was under police custody and look quite healthy. Now the question arises who is responsible for the killing, mob or the state police? It is suspected that Rakbar Khan was beaten to death while under police custody. The image of the victim is raising different questions over Rajasthan police. According to eyewitnesses he died after being thrashed by police and not by the mob.

The gravely injured Rakbar Khan was taken to the police station instead of a hospital. Later en route to the hospital, the police officials stopped for tea, not bothered with the sensitivity of the situation. And when the victim was brought to the hospital, he was declared brought dead. A case of negligence is proved in the incident and four police officers have been suspended over the matter.

Reacting over the incident, Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Lok Sabha said, “We are thoughtful about this. This didn’t start only recently, the incidents of lynching have been going on since years. I have said this earlier too, the biggest mob lynching is, what happened in 1984.”
