Amidst threat Delhi CM Kejriwal Invites all for TM Krishna Concert in Delhi

New Delhi: Carnatic singer TM Krishna is going to perform on November 17 at Garden of Five Senses on Delhi Government invitation. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also invited everyone to come for the concert.

TM Krishna, a Ramon Magsaysay award winner singer who was supposed to perform earlier at Delhi’s Nehru Park on November 17, in a cultural program of SPIC MACAY, faced the threat of right-wing groups attack, and the concert was canceled. Airport Authority of India who was organising the event in association with the cultural organisation SPIC MACAY pulled out and canceled the program.

Krishna a famous Carnatic vocalist was accused by right-wing fanatics of being a sympathizer of ‘Urban Naxal’ was immediately invited by the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia. Aam Admi Party leader Sisodia without missing the opportunity immediately offered to host Krishna.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal lashed out against the right-wing trolls and invited all the people to come and participate.

Kejriwal tweeted, “If u believe in an inclusive India, an India which belongs to all religions, faiths and castes, your presence tomorrow will be a statement against those forces who are trying to divide and destroy our beloved India.”


Krishna’s concert was part of a two day “Dance and Music in the Park” festival at Nehru Park scheduled on 17 and 18 November. The whole matter caught up the attention when he tweeted about the invitation from AAI that he is coming to perform in Delhi. Soon after the tweet, he was trolled by the right-wing fanatics who threatened him of dire consequences if he dared to come and perform.
