Amitabh Bachchan to play a transwoman in Kanchana remake?

Bollywood’s Khiladi Kumar Bollywood Akshay Kumar and  Kiara Advani has already begun shooting for the Hindi remake of Tamil film ‘Kanchana’, which is being titled as ‘Laaxmi Bomb’. The latest addition to the star cast is megastar Amitabh Bachchan and he might be seen in the role of a trans woman in the Hindi remake.

The reports have already been the buzz of the town that Akshay Kumar is doing the Hindi version of Raghava Lawrence’s Tamil horror-comedy film ‘Kanchana‘. Now it is confirmed that Akshay is portraying the role of Raghava (played by Raghava Lawrence in the original).

Sharing the update of her first-day shoot, Kiara revealed the name of the film i.e ‘Laaxmi Bomb’.

What surprised us the most is the news of Amitabh Bachchan playing a trans woman in the movie. In the original one, Sarath Kumar played the role of a transgender woman as Kanchana.  A source informed Deccan Chronicle that, “Big B will be portraying the role of a trans-woman in the Bollywood remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Tamil horror comedy ‘Kanchana- Muni 2’. He will be reprising the role of Sarath Kumar, who played the critically acclaimed part in the Tamil version”.

However, confirmation about senior Bachchan’s role in this film has not been made official yet. The Hindi remake of ‘Kanchana’ remains a much-anticipated film as Akshay Kumar is back to the horror-comedy genre.

The film is directed by Raghava Lawrence, who is set to mark his Bollywood debut as a director. Reportedly, he is making a lot of changes in the script as per the requirement for Bollywood audience.
