“Dalbir who played Raam before this year acted as Raavan for the first time on his friends demand,” said his brother Balbir.

Amritsar: Dalbir Singh acted Ravaan in the Ramleela performed at Joda Phatak, where a speedy train mowed down 61 people; was getting ready after the play to watch himself the #RavaanDahan, saw the train coming from other direction tried his best to stop people standing on the railway track from getting under it died and came under the train himself at Amritsar train tragedy.

Bereaved family members of Dalbir are in trauma and his young wife is in the state of shock after the incident.

He left early for the event to help two of his friends Playing Raam and Lakshman get ready for the performance of Raamleela.

Dalbir has left behind his Mother, wife and a young brother.

People from adjoining villages have been gathering at Joda Phatak to celebrate Raamleela and Ravan Dahan over 20 years.
