A 21-year-old youth from Andhra Pradesh had ended his life, leaving a selfie suicide note holding police responsible for his extreme step. The tragedy occurred in Bapatla town on Thursday morning.

The youth identified as Pedada Srinivas Rao (21) hanged himself from a tree at Bapatla new bus station in the morning.

Police in their statements the youth travelled from Chittoor district to his native Krishna district on a bicycle, violating the lockdown conditions. He is from a private company in Chittoor district.

His ride started on March 30 and reached Stuartpuram near Bapatla on Wednesday afternoon.

The police detained the man. They made a case against the man and arrested him, besides seizing his cycle. The same night, they released him on personal bond. The accused man’s vehicle remained in police custody.

He reached the bus station and made a selfie video. “Police have irresponsibly left me here. The Vedullapalli police are responsible for my death,” he mentioned in the video.

However, police maintained that Srinivas had resorted to the extreme due to financial problems. Director-General of Police Gautam Sawang ordered an enquiry after the video went viral on social media.
