Good News For People of Andhra Pradesh! Aarogyasri scheme to be applicable in other states

Amaravati: In a major move, the Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday decided to extend Arogyasri medical insurance scheme to as many as 150 super speciality hospitals in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. Further, the YS Jaganmohan Reddy government has banned private practice by government doctors.

YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday, September 18, approved recommendations submitted by an expert committee and directed the officials to frame guidelines for the implementation of the same.

The Arogyasree scheme will be available in superspeciality hospitals of the three districts – Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai November 1, 2019 onwards. Besides, the government has decided to implement the revamped scheme as pilot project in West Goadvari district, to be launched on January 1, 2020.

The expert committee suggested the chief minister that the policy of government doctors should not do any private practice has to be enforced seriously. The CM gave a nod to the same and assured the govt doctors their demand of increase in salaries will be seen positively.
