Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce has taken an alarming turn. The ‘Maleficient’ actor has now accused her ex-husband of domestic violence.
According to a report in Us Weekly, Jolie claims to have “proof and authority in support” her domestic abuse claims against her estranged husband. And she is ready to provide that evidence during their upcoming divorce trial.
“Over the past four and a half years there have been a number of claims made by Angelina that have been reviewed and not substantiated,” the insider told Us. “The children have been used by Angelina to hurt Brad before and this is more of that behavior. This leaking of documents by her fourth or fifth set of lawyers has been done to hurt Brad.”
In a statement to ET, Jolie expressed relief that the investigation had concluded. “The job of the DCFS is to make sure the children are in a safe and secure situation,” the statement read.
“As we said earlier this week, childcare professionals encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides that was in the best interest of the children. Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their 8-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal.”
For the unversed, earlier, Pitt was accused of child abuse and he was cleared of those allegations in 2016.
The couple announced the separation in 2016 and it was in 2019 when the court granted them a single status. The estranged couple has been co-parenting their six kids – Maddox, 19, Pax, 17, Zahara, 16, Shiloh, 14, twins Knox and Vivienne, 12.
