Antagarh Tape Case: FIR registered against former Chhattisgarh CM Ajit Jogi, his son and others

The audio tapes which were leaked had a conversation of Ajit Jogi, Amit Jogi, Puneet Gupta among others of poll fixing in Assembly bypoll 2014.

Raipur: Chattisgarh police have registered an FIR against former CM Ajit Jogi, his son Amit Jogi, BJP leader and former minister Rajesh Munat, Manturam Pawar and former chief minister Raman Singh’s son in law Puneet Gupta in Antagarh tape scam case.

The audio tapes which were leaked had a conversation of Ajit Jogi, Amit Jogi, Puneet Gupta among others of poll fixing in Assembly bypoll 2014.

Congress leader and former Raipur Mayor Kiranmayee Naya have filled an FIR stating that in 2014 Congress had nominated Manturam Pawar to contest the assembly elections but late he has withdrawn from the nomination at the late moment. He has also stated that Ajit Jogi, Amit Jogi with others had bribed Pawar by offering money to withdraw from the elections.

The FIR was registered on Sunday against CM Ajit Jogi, his son Amit Jogi , BJP leader and former minister Rajesh Munat, Manturam Pawar and former chief minister Raman Singh’s son in law Puneet Gupta under section 171 e for bribery, 406 for criminal breach of trust, 420 for cheating, 120 criminal conspiracy and other section of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

After the tapes leaked, Amit Jogi the sitting legislator of Congress was expelled and later in 2016, Ajit Jogi quit Congress and formed its regional party called Janta Congress Chattisgarh. Since then its opposition Congress has been demanding probe into the Antagarh Tape matter which has a conversation of the leaders regarding fixing of the bypoll elections.
