Anti-CAA protests live updates: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal urges for peace

Tension escalated in northeast Delhi with protesters torching at least two houses and a fire tender in the Jaffrabad and Maujpur areas, where pro and anti-CAA groups clashed for the second consecutive day on Monday and hurled stones at each other.

A police constable has also died amid the clashes that broke out over CAA. The clashes have taken place between Maujpur and Jaffrabad metro stations, both of which have been shut. Some shops and houses of people were also attacked in the area.

Arson and violence have hit the areas following clashes between pro- and anti-CAA groups. Maujpur and neighboring areas have seen violence on Monday amid reports of houses being burnt and petrol pump being set afire.
