Popular Bollywood Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap who left Twitter a few months back after he received threats, has now returned to the platform owing to the situation going on in the country.

The ongoing protest in the country over the Citizenship Amendment Act has caused unrest. Speaking on the widespread protest, the filmmaker tweeted, “This has gone too far.. can’t stay silent any longer. This government is clearly fascist .. and it makes me angry to see voices that can actually make a difference stay quiet”

Kashyap had deleted his Twitter account on Saturday (August 10), after his parents received threat calls and his daughter Aaliyah was threatened with rape online. Screenshots of the noted filmmaker’s last tweets are doing the rounds on social media.

Anurag has been vocal about his political views on Twitter, in the past, and was often critical of the ruling government.
