The trailer of ‘Phillauri’ that released on Monday is winning hearts due to the brilliant act by star cast, Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma and Mehreen Pirzada. Undoubtedly, the trailer was fun, and the film looks like a complete family entertainer.  The film is Anushka Sharma’s latest production venture and the trailer does not disappoint at all.

The film is set in two different eras and tells a story of Shashi (played by Anushka Sharma) who is a friendly ghost now and looking for her lover (Diljit Dosanjh). The film also stars ‘Life Of Pi’ star Suraj Sharma. Sharma in the film plays a ‘Manglik’ groom who is forced to first get married to a tree on which Shashi resides. It seems to be a comedy-drama and has been directed by Anshai Lal.

But at the same time, the trailer reminds us of the British-American animated film ‘Corpse Bride,’ which was released in the year 2005. Therefore, is this Anushka Sharma starrer inspired from Tim Burton and Mike Johnson’s film? This will only be revealed once the film will hit the theaters.

Regardless, the forthcoming Indian rom-com seems to be more amusing as compared to Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter starrer. The unusual concept has already been acclaimed by the Indian audience. The movie has been extensively shot in Punjab. It appears to be a fun, bitter-sweet love tale with some striking songs sung by Dosanjh himself.  With a sociable ghost and a Punjabi wedding- Phillauri could be a decent watch this summer.
