Consider you secured 9,8,9,10,8 in your respective 5 subjects. In a bid to calculate your CGPA, just sum them up and divide by 5(average it). So the CGPA stands now 8.8. This is your CGPA and to convert it into percentage multiply the CGPA with 9.5. Hence your percentage stands now 83.6%
Students should keep in mind that CGPA is the average of grade points achieved in all subjects excluding the additional 6th subject. Note: CGPA is not the same as the percentage. There is a different process to calculate the percentage. For subjectwise percentage, multiple grade points received in each subject with 9.5.
Step by step guide to calculate CGPA
Add the grade points for the subjects.
Suppose you have five subjects.
Subject 1 – 9
Subject 2 – 8
Subject 3 – 7
Subject 4 – 8
Subject 5 – 8
Step 1: Add the grade points – 9+8+7+8+8 = 40
Step 2: Divide the sum by 5
40/5 = 8
Thus, your CGPA is 8.0

To convert the CGPA TO PERCENTAGE, multiply it with 9.5.
In this case, if CGPA is 8.0 then the percentile is 8*9.5 = 76%.
