The most recent iPhone 15 rumour concerns everyone’s preferred topic: battery life. According to a new report published on August 21st, the new handsets may be able to be charged at speeds of up to 35W, meaning that we may be able to charge our phones up to 100 percent quicker than ever before. The iPhone 14 Pro is restricted to 27W, whereas the iPhone 14 is limited to 20W. The batteries could be 18 percent larger, according to a second report, so that they last longer and charge faster.
When will Apple’s newest smartphone, the iPhone 15, be released?
Although the release date for the iPhone 15 has not yet been announced (we won’t know until Apple’s launch event), Apple is a fairly predictable creature when it comes to iPhone release dates. The company announces its new line of smartphones during the first two weeks of September almost always. For instance, the iPhone 14 was introduced on September 7, 2022, while the iPhone 13 was introduced on September 14, 2021.

Obviously, this is all conjecture, and we won’t know until Tim Cook himself confirms it, but a leaker’s report is consistent with our fundamental calculations.
According to analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities, who has sources within Apple’s iPhone supply chain, the iPhone 15 could be released on September 23, 2023. This is a Saturday, but if we account for time zone differences, a launch on September 22 seems plausible.

A blog post from the Korean company Naver suggests that the base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may also receive a price reduction to make the non-Pro devices more appealing to customers, who have reportedly shunned the Plus device as they did with the iPhone Mini.
According to a research note from Barclays analyst Tim Long, viewed by MacRumors, the iPhone 15 Pro may cost $100 (£79) more than the iPhone 14 Pro, whereas the iPhone 15 Pro Max may cost $100 to $200 (£79 to £157) more than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Also, it has been speculated for some time that the base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will maintain the same price. Apple iPhone 15 Design

The lightning port has also been removed from the render in lieu of a USB-C port, which is the most plausible rumour to date (given the EU’s political wrangling). A second report from Gurman suggests that all four iPhone 15 models will receive the Dynamic Island from the iPhone 14 Pro, thereby reducing the size of the creases.
According to a report published in October by reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max could lose their mechanical buttons in lieu of solid-state buttons. The controls would function similarly to the iPhone 7 and 8 home button. Those anticipating Apple’s return of Touch ID or an in-display biometric sensor will be disappointed. It may not be taking place after all. Mark Gurman stated in his PowerOn newsletter that while Apple had been experimenting in-display sensors, Face ID was here to stay for the foreseeable future. The analyst claims in the aforementioned Jeff Pu report that the iPhone 15 Pro could be equipped with a periscope camera, which would enhance long-range photography and zoom. This was also rumoured for the iPhone 14 Pro, but it did not manifest. The above renders indicate that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a slightly larger camera bump, which could house a periscope camera.
The leaker Ming-Chi Kuo stated in June 2022 that the iPhone 15 Pro Max would be the only iPhone to receive a periscope camera in 2023, giving the iPhone a 6x optical magnification. In 2020, Samsung was the first to popularise periscope cameras with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
On 8 May, reputable leaker Unknownz21 disclosed on Twitter that they had received independent confirmation that the iPhone 15 Pro Max would indeed receive a periscope camera, and that it would be exclusive to the larger device. According to a research note from analysts at Nomura, the iPhone 15’s base-level cameras will also receive significant enhancements. “Lower-end i15 models will have main cameras (wide) upgraded to 48MP with an image sensor size of 1/1.5, which is slightly smaller than the i14 Pro’s 48MP sensor size, but much better than the i14’s 12MP,” the note stated.
Twitter leaker Revegnus alleged on May 27 that the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s primary camera and M12 OLED display will be identical to those of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. While the primary camera sensor and OLED display are both excellent, it would be a shame if neither were upgraded.
Apple iPhone 16 Speculations
Even though the iPhone 15 has not yet been released, rumours about the iPhone 16 have already begun to circulate. Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants predicted on 9 May that the aspect ratio of the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max would increase to 6.3in and 6.8in, granting users larger displays and (inevitably) larger batteries.
On 22 May, 9to5Mac published CADs of the rumoured iPhone 16 Pro Max with a 6.9-inch display and a larger body, citing rumours. It will be taller but narrower than before. The website also suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro Max could abandon its Max moniker in favour of the iPhone 16 Pro Ultra, consistent with the branding of the Apple Watch Ultra.
