A baby girl who was born on a train in Irish Railway has been offered free rail travel for 25 years and we envy her for this. The birth of the baby took place on Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) service from Galway to Dublin Heuston railway station on June 11 at around 3.05 pm.

Two nurses and a doctor helped the woman in delivering the baby after she went into labor while she was onboard the train.

The Irish rail service said that they would provide the baby girl free transport throughout her childhood and up to the age of 25 due to the unique circumstances of her birth.

The spokesperson told a media portal “We are delighted and grateful to both customers and staff who assisted, that the mother safely gave birth to her baby daughter onboard. We wish mother and baby well, and respecting her privacy would be delighted to arrange for free travel for her new daughter throughout her childhood and up to age 25.”

The onboard catering assistant, Emma Tote had alerted the staff after she heard a woman screaming in the toilet. The driver was also informed and the passengers who had a medical background were requested to come forward and help the woman.

The doctor who assisted the woman during childbirth said that by the time he came, “two nurses were running the show already”. Post which the baby and the mother were rushed to the Dublin hospital and now they both are doing well.
