Bajaj’s Upcoming ADV Bike: Bajaj Auto appears ready to enter one of India’s fastest-growing motorcycle segments. The company has been spotted testing a brand-new adventure motorcycle out on public roads near Pune. There are spy photos and the test mule is heavily camouflaged but even then it managed to spark a lot of excitement among enthusiasts, mainly because the bike is rumored to be same as some popular options like the Hero Xpulse 210, the Suzuki V-Strom SX and even the upcoming TVS Apache RTX 300.
Bajaj’s Upcoming ADV Bike
While Bajaj has long manufactured adventure motorcycles for KTM through its strategic partnership, the company has never offered a dedicated adventure motorcycle carrying its own badge. The newly spotted motorcycle suggests that Bajaj is now preparing to capitalize on the increasing demand for affordable adventure-touring machines in India. Industry observers believe this motorcycle could become one of the brand’s most important launches in recent years.
Unlike adventure-styled commuter motorcycles, the test bike appears to have been designed from the ground up for touring and light off-road riding. Its proportions, stance, and hardware indicate a serious adventure-focused product rather than a modified roadster.
Adventure-Focused Design
Spy shots hint at a few design cues people usually link with today’s ADV motorcycles. The bike shows a strong front, a tall, poised stance, upright rider ergonomics, and long travel suspension. There’s also a long single piece seat, which should help with comfort for longer rides and it also seems built to handle dirt or broken surfaces without feeling too out of place.
The fuel tank looks big enough for extended touring duty and the slim section near the rider’s knees should make it easier to stand when you’re on uneven ground. There’s an upswept exhaust as well and that compact tail area, both of which add to the adventure mood. On the test unit, Bajaj also had a top box fitted, so touring looks like a major priority.
Expected Hardware and Suspension Setup
For what’s coming, the Bajaj ADV is expected to roll with wire spoke wheels. Chances are it’ll use a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear combo. The suspension setup is also expected to be long travel up front and a rear monoshock arrangement, tuned to swallow rough stretches and bad roads.

KTM-Derived Engine Under Consideration?
One of the more intriguing bits about the spy motorcycle is the engine architecture. Reports are saying the engine casing looks way different, compared to Bajaj’s current 250cc base on the Pulsar N250 and the Dominar 250. Instead, it resembles KTM’s newest liquid-cooled single-cylinder setup, so people are guessing the bike might end up borrowing KTM-derived engineering.
A few reports claim Bajaj could be working with KTM’s reliable 249cc liquid-cooled engine, the one that’s around 31 PS of power and about 25 Nm of torque. With that kind of output, the motorcycle should feel quite strong on highways and still stay capable for long touring. Meanwhile, other sources mention Bajaj might also be assessing a larger 350cc option. Still, nothing official has been confirmed by the company.
Expected Launch Timeline
The test mule looks close to production spec, which usually means development is moving quickly. Industry chatter suggests Bajaj might showcase the motorcycle towards the end of 2026, and then a proper commercial launch could happen sometime in early 2027. Since adventure touring keeps getting more attention among Indian riders, Bajaj showing up here could really crank up the competition in the budget ADV space.
