Bank of Baroda, Dena, Vijaya Bank merger: Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank’s merger with Bank of Baroda came effective from 1 April 2019. Notably, it was the first three-way kind of amalgamation between the banks in India. 

Now on 20th December, the Bank of Baroda has confirmed that it has successfully completed the integration of 3,898 branches of erstwhile Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank with itself. Customers of Bank of Baroda will have now access to a total of 8,248 domestic branches and 10,318 ATMs across the country.

“We have successfully completed the integration of erstwhile banks with Bank of Baroda amidst the challenges faced under the COVID environment. We are happy to once again welcome all our esteemed customers and request them to avail full suite of Bank of Baroda’s products and digital solutions,” the bank’s managing director and CEO Sanjiv Chadha said in the release.

From this merger, over 5 crore customer accounts were migrated. In addition to branches, all ATMs, POS machines and credit cards have been successfully migrated to Bank of Baroda. 

Below are the most frequently asked questions by Customers regarding this merger

Bank Branches: 

As now, all Dena and Vijaya Bank branches have become Bank of Baroda Branches. It has caused an obvious change in the Branch name and address in many cases. While the information will be notified to all migrating customers, new details can be found on the official Bank of Baroda Website.  

Passbook: 

Passbook will be provided by your nearest Bank of Baroda branch, which is now your previous Dena or Vijaya Bank branch.

Bank of Baroda, Dena, Vijaya Bank IFSC/MICR Code:

To answer simply, yes, the IFSC and MICR code will change. But for the time being all transactions through NEFT / RTGS / IMPS/ ECS / NACH/ PDCs with the old account number/ IFSC Code/ MICR Code will continue to be in use.

Bank of Baroda, Dena, Vijaya Bank Account Number:

Yes, your account number will change once your data migration happens. The change in account number will be informed to customers over their registered mobile number via SMS. You can also get your new account number information from the contact center.

Bank of Baroda, Dena, Vijaya Bank Customer Identification Number (CIF):

Yes, your Customer Identification number will also change and it will be linked to the allotted customer number. 

Bank of Baroda, Dena, Vijaya Bank Debit/ATM cards:

Customers of Vijaya and Dena bank can for now continue to use their existing debit cards till their expiry date. However, when Migrating customers will use Bank of Baroda ATM for the first time, the ATM will ask them to change their PIN.

The IT systems of the ATMs of the three banks have been upgraded to accommodate the varying number of digits in the account numbers of these lenders

Online Banking Services:

All net banking services will now be available only on https://www.bobibanking.com. To avail the mobile banking services, all account-holders will need to download and install the Bank of Baroda’s app called M-Connect Plus.
