On occasion of the Beating Retreat ceremony on 29th Jan, Delhi metro services will be affected. On that day, the services at 2 stations of Yellow Line(Samaypur Badli-HUDA City Centre)won’t be available as per timings given below:

1. Udyog Bhawan: 2 to 6.30 PM

2. Central Secretariat: 4 to 6.30 PM

Entry/Exit at Central Secretariat will be allowed from Gate No1 only from 2 to 4 PM while other gates will remain closed during this period.

Interchange from Yellow to Violet Line (Kashmere Gate-Raja Nahar Singh)&vice versa will be allowed at the station during this period.

For the uninitiated, the Parade culminates with the Beating Retreat ceremony, which takes place every year on January 29 at Vijay Chowk on Rajpath. People from far away corners of India come to get a glimpse of the parade.

The Festival of Beating the Retreat Ceremony in Delhi is observed keeping in mind the age-old tradition, according to which, soldiers called a close down to the war at sunset. This call was the sound of the bugles vibrated across the battlefield calling a halt to the fighting.
