Bhojpuri star Md Shahid alias Raj Singh alias Lalan and Syed Jain Hussain have been arrested by the team of AATS (Anti Auto Theft Squad) in South East Delhi on Tuesday for vehicle lifting. The police also recovered fake currency worth Rs 50 lakh and two bikes, as per reports.

The accused Shahid has worked in the film ‘Allahabad to Islamabad’. He hails from Batla House in Jamia Nagar.

According to a report in leading daily, Inspector Kailash Bisht of AATS (Anti Auto Theft Squad) has exposed this interstate vehicle lifter gang. Delhi’s southeast district has reported multiple reports of vehicle theft after which the team led an investigation.

On March 12, the police stopped a black-coloured scooty at 8:25 PM and found that it was stolen from Scooty Okhla Jamia Nagar. Later, fake currency in the bag was recovered from that driver during the interrogation.

During the investigation, the accused Shahid revealed that he had a financial crisis due to the pandemic and joined an auto lifter, Syed Jain Hussain who is a taxi driver. Later, he also came in contact with people who used to racket fake notes.

Police found out that 8 cases have already been registered against him, including forgery, snatching, and Arms Act.
