Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise has shocked the film industry and ever since there has been a conversation started on mental health, bullying and nepotism.

The actor who was reportedly suffering from depression since the past few months and breathed his last on 14th June, leaving his fans, family and the entire film fraternity devastated.

In a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama, Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla while speaking to Faridoon Shahryar talked about Sushant Singh Rajput and his relations with him.

He said, “I’m an acquaintance so we’ve met, we’ve partied a bit. But it’s not that we chatted on the phone or things like that. But whenever we met we met very well and there’s never been a disconnect. We’ve connected, we bonded, we have spoken. It just was unbelievable because for a person who has achieved so much and is so young and for someone like him to take a step like that, of course for all the good reasons he could have had, one just feels really sad and it’s disappointing that life has passed just like that. There was so much more than the man could do.”

When asked about his opinion the nepotism debate, Sidharth stated, “If you talk about nepotism in Bollywood as such, you need to understand it’s not a government job. Its one person putting some money in making one of his creations, he or she would want the person that he or she feels is best for the job. And also feels that he or she will be committed enough to finish the job.”

The actor went on to explain, “I do not really disregard it okay if it’s there. But I do understand that it’s fine because if I am putting my money I’m going to put it into somebody I know will be worthy enough to finish the job. And sometimes it could be people from who I like or it could be anybody else. It’s my money when I’m putting, not the government’s money that’s coming and I’m distributing it among everybody and making it a point for everybody to be getting an equal share.

“I think even if it’s there its fine and it’s completely up to people out there, their choice of actor or director or technician that they wish to have, best suited for their project. So, even if it does exist it’s all cool and it exists everywhere. I mean today in a government job people have reservations, right? So if there is nepotism there, it’s there everywhere in different forms,” he added.
