Police arrested seven men after a video of four college students being harassed at a private hostel surfaced on social media. The students aged between 18 to 21 were brutally tortured and forced into performing unnatural sex in Bihar’s Begusarai district. The accused men shot a video of the whole episode and had posted and circulated it online.

According to police, the four students stayed in a privately-run-Kushwaha hostel and were kidnapped by assaulters on Wednesday and taken behind a prison complex. The assaulters forced two of them to strip and compelled the inmates to perform sexual activities with each other. They also made them drink alcohol and the harassment continued throughout the day.

The four students belong to different classes including class X to graduation level. The incident took place on October 24 in town Police station area of Begusarai. According to police, the accused had allegedly been asking the hostel inmates to buy water from their RO water plant. When the students refused to buy water, the water plant owner attacked the students.

“We have booked 12 people, most of them in early 20s. We have got the medical examination of the boys done. We have arrested seven youths under IPC and Arms Act. We are not sure if inmates were forced to have unnatural sex. If medical report suggests this, we will request the court to add relevant sections to the case.” The SP said the hostel boys were being pressured to buy water from the plant. “We have gathered video footage and are studying them. The boys were admitted to a local hospital and are recovering fast,” said SP Awkash Kumar.
