The Janata Dal United JD(U) has finalised the names for six seats of the Legislative Council from the Governor quota. JDU has decided to nominate Upendra Kushwaha for the MLC post. With this, the rumours of Kushwaha being sent to Rajya Sabha have now ended for a while.

The Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) has not got even a single seat in six JDU seats. The remaining six seats under the governor’s quota are in the account of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

JD(U) decides these six names of MLC

JDU has finalised the name of Upendra Kushwaha, Sanjay Gandhi, Lalan Saraf, Rambachan Rai, Ashok Chaudhary, and Sanjay Singh as MLC candidates from the governor’s quota as per Jagran.

Notably, former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha’s party Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) on Sunday merged with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United). Kushwaha had split from the JD(U) in 2013 to launch his own party.

Before this, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also decided to make Kushwaha, the chairman of the party’s parliamentary board. It was believed that JDU would send Kushwaha to the Rajya Sabha, but this didn’t happen as of now.
