Bihar: Rumour was spread regarding the central government giving Rs 15 lakh on the opening of a new bank account in Indian Post Payment Bank in Motihari district of Bihar. As a result of which men and women from the rural area reached the bank to open a bank account, which led to a frantic situation on the bank premises.

The bank people tried to control the situation but to no avail. After the bank was filled with women who came to open an account, the administration came to the rescue. With the help of postmaster DP Chaudhary, Ajay Kumar Dubey, Narendra Kumar Yadav, Sunil and others, police were called to control the situation.

The administration opened 4 counters considering the huge line up of rural women. Apart from the bank people, post office workers were also assigned to help the staff. The bank opened account of zero balance and 165 bank accounts.

When asked from the women of the village, they said that they got the information regarding the offer from the village people, so they rushed to the bank to open an account and avail 15 lakh rupees.

Indian post payment bank doesn’t have any other branch and that was the reason they were not able to open many accounts in the village but this incident had created more problem for the bank staff.
