Amidst AAP controversies, Kapil Mishra who was on a hunger strike was attacked by a person allegedly from BJP. Responding to the incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said that the incident was shocking and shameful, adding that it showed how low the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) could stoop to.
“This is shocking and shameful. Every citizen of India has the right to expose corruption. The police must increase Kapil Mishra’s security. I am shocked to see this. There must be an investigation into this,” Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said.
Slamming the opponent, another BJP leader R.P. Singh asserted that AAP was afraid of facing questions posed by Kapil Mishra.
“This categorically shows that how low the Aam Aadmi Party and their leaders can stoop to. They can’t face the questions asked by Kapil Mishra, or raised by the media. This is extremely shocking. They used to say that we will answer every question by the Aam Aadmi. Now, their own colleague is asking questions, which are supported by documents. Instead of answering them, they are stooping to this level,” Singh said.
Notably, Mishra was attacked on Wednesday at his dharna site. He was on a hunger strike demanding clarification on a few AAP leaders’ foreign trips in the last two years. The attacker, however, was overpowered by Mishra’s supporters. The attacker, identified as Ankit, later cleared that he wanted to attack Mishra as Mishra harmed AAP.
