Veteran Bollywood actor Reema Lagoo died on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest at the Kokilaben Dhirbhai Ambani hospital in Mumbai.
Lagoo was popular for essaying the role of a mother in movies. She has worked in several blockbuster films.
The popular face of ‘maa’ in the 90s and early 2000, Reema Lagoo has played this role with finesse. Her role of a strong, supportive, and affectionate mother of SRK in Kal Ho Na Ho has earned her much applause. She is also very famous for portraying Madhuri Dixit’s mother in the super hit film, Hum Aapke Hain Koun.
Some of her epic films include, Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun and Hum Saath Saath Hain. Reema Lagoo has also worked in Marathi films and popular television shows. She also earned praise for herself from the TV shows, Tu Tu Main Main and Shrimaan Shrimati. She last appeared in Naamkaran.
Reema was a winner of four Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actress. Born as Gurinder Bhadbhade in 1958, Reema Lagoo has also worked in the Marathi theatre for over four decades.
