The NCB has started the process of Rhea Chakraborty’s arrest. Rhea will be arrested at 5 pm today after Day 3 of NCB’s interrogation ends. Two aspects that worked against Rhea and led to her arrest are harbouring narcotics and procuring narcotics. Once arrested, Rhea will be taken for medical tests and will be produced before the court along with the three other arrested accused – Rhea’s brother Showik, Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and his staffer Dipesh Sawant. The four will be presented before the court via video conferencing.

“Rhea Chakraborty has set the criminal law in motion by filing her complaint with Bandra police station. The cocktail of illegally administered medicines and drugs may have lead to SSR’s suicide on  June 14,  2020. His sisters need to be answerable to the investigators and God,” Ms Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde said.

With 75,809 cases India’s coronavirus tally surged to 42,80,442 on Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry data this morning showed. The death count has risen to 72,775 with 1,133 more fatalities. 33,23,950 patients have recovered from the infection in the country, pushing the recovery rate to 77.6%.

Maharashtra remains the state hit hardest by the pandemic, followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. India is the country with the second-highest coronavirus caseload in the world after the United States.
