Sometime back the most popular film starring Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, Bunty Aur Babli sequel was confirmed. For the past few months, there have been speculations about the casting of this film.
Now the lead pair of the sequel has been confirmed by the makers. Gully Boy star Siddhant Chaturvedi and debutante Sharvari Wagh to star in the film.
The actor will be stepping into a similar character, like that of Abhishek Bachchan from the original.
As for the film’s leading lady, the makers have decided to go with a fresh face and hence Mumbai based Sharvari has been roped in as the leading lady for this film. The news was confirmed by the media portal, who recently spoke to the sequel’s director Varun Sharma.
Revealing that Bunty Aur Babli 2 will be set in today’s time, the director spoke about casting Siddhant, he said, “Siddhant caught everyone’s eye with his brilliant acting debut in Gully Boy (earlier this year) and became the heartthrob of the nation. We are very excited to have him play the role of Bunty. He is a superb actor, is extremely charming and he fits the role perfectly.”
After assisting Ali Abbas Zafar on Sultan, Varun Sharma is now all set for his debut directorial.
