In a terrible incident, a bus carrying Hungarian teenagers crashed and caught on fire on a motorway in northern Italy on late Friday night. The horrific episode killed at least 16 people while several others got injured in the tragedy, said, firefighters.
The accident took place near Verona on Friday night as the vehicle struck a pylon and burst into flames, according to emergency workers. Following the accident, some 36 injured were taken to hospital.
According to an Italian news agency, the French bus driver along with his family could be among the victims.
Significantly, the bus was carrying around 50 passengers. Most of the passengers were Hungarians aged between 16 and 18.
Reportedly, the bus was returning from a school trip to France.
Police requires a go-ahead from the prosecutor to examine the charred remains of the bus.
