The Indian version of the photo-video sharing platform, Instagram, is set to undergo a big change in 2019. Soon the shopaholics would be able to buy stuff from the app itself.
Instagram is working on adding a buy button with the help of which the users would be able to redirect themselves to the merchant’s shopping site. The feature would allow Instagrammers to look for product availability while being in the app. According to reports, the app-developers would later come up with an option through which the users would be able to order from the app itself.
Currently, the only way that the users have on the app to boost their brand is the swipe-up feature. The swipe-up feature which is available on the Instagram Stories directs the consumer to the business’ website. Globally users do get an option to shop with the help of the app.
Apparently, four fifth of total e-commerce in India falls under Amazon India and Flipkart-Myntra. Over time, other internet giants like Facebook and Google have introduced themselves in the field of e-commerce.
