CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025: The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ “Single Girl Child Scholarship” (formerly the “CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child”) is a CBSE initiative that aims at providing financial help and motivating a female student who is an only child of her parents, has passed her Class 10 in a CBSE-affiliated school, and is promoted to Classes 11 and/or 12 in a CBSE-affiliated school.

The project intends to raise the standard of gender equality in education, to provide the girl with the necessary support in her education and to lower the risk of dropping out by high achievers.

Under the program, the chosen students are given a certain sum of money per month (e.g., ₹500 per month) for up to two years (Classes 11 & 12).

Deadline Extended: What is the new date?

Good news: The CBSE has communicated that the last date for registration for this scholarship scheme will be extended.

The last date for the 2024 (Fresh & Renewal) scheme was extended to 8 February 2025 for applicants, with verification by schools by 15 February 2025.

Regarding the 2025 season, a recent news update states that the registration window has been extended till 20 November 2025.

So, if you have the qualifications, this extension would be a great chance for you to submit your application without worrying about missing ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌out.
