The Centre on Sunday approved the setting up of a regional medical centre in Gorakhpur for research into children’s diseases. The decision was announced by Union minister of health and family welfare, J P Nadda.

Earlier on Sunday, the minister, along with Uttar Pradesh CM, Yogi Adityanath, visited the BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur, where over 70 children lost their lives due to the shortage of oxygen supply in the hospital.

CM Yogi on Sunday said, “nobody can be more sensitive towards those children than me”.

He also said that ‘those whose sensitivity has died are now trying to add salt to the wound by raising the sensitive issue unnecessarily’.

The CM is waiting for the reports of probe committee to come. He assured action against those who would be found guilty in the matter.
