Chandigarh: Law student fires bullet on receiving cold pizza

A bizarre turn of events occurred when pizzas were delivered late to a youth in Chandigarh. The 27-year-old law student, recipient of the order, fired bullet at the manager following the delivery.

When the delivery boy reached the venue of pizza delivery, he was allegedly detained by Sanam Setia, belonging to Fazilka district, Punjab, who placed ordered. The accused had ordered two pizzas along with a cheese bread which reportedly got delayed by 20 minutes.

Setia allegedly detained the delivery boy and asked him to call his manager, on the manager’s refusal to come Setia hurled abuses over phone. When the manager arrived along with a couple of staff members, the accused brought his licensed gun and fired shot, which didn’t hurt anyone.

Following the incident, the manager called the police control room, cops came in and seized a .22-bore pistol along with 20 live cartridges from the 27 year old.

“Setia had ordered food online from the Gillco Valley outlet of a popular pizza chain. About 30 minute later, when it was delivered at this door, he complained that it was cold and demanded a fresh one”, said Station house officer, Bhagwant Singh.

“The case was registered under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 27 (punishment for using arms to kill) and 54 (if firing can result in death) of the Arms Act. A court has remanded the accused in judicial custody”, added the SHO as reported by the Times of India.
