Followed by the YouTube vs TikTok feud, and many crimes and drastic incidents, people are determined to replace the Chinese short-video making and sharing platform, TikTok.

Earlier, Mitron app aka desi TikTok created buzz on social media. This time a new alternative for TikTok has come which is called the ‘Chingari’ app. This Indian app on Wednesday has garnered more than 100,000 downloads of Google Play Store and the number of subscribers has been growing up rapidly.

The app is available in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Bangla, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu.

Chingari was developed in 2019 by two Bengaluru-based programmers Biswatma Nayak and Siddharth Gautam. Much like TikTok, the app allows users to earn money by making and posting short videos.

However, the content creators can get a chance to earn depending upon the rate at which a video gets viral. The creators will get points per view that can be redeemed as real cash. This way, people can earn money while socialising with people.

Additionally, the app has offered access to Trending News, Entertainment News, Funny Videos, Song Videos, Wishes, Love Quotes, Status Videos, Good Morning and Good Night Videos, Shayaris, Clips, and Memes.

Moreover, the chat option is also available that will let the users to interact with other users on the platform. Besides, it allows visitors to be creative with WhatsApp status, recordings, sound clasps, GIF stickers, and images.

Biswatma Nayak, Co-founder of the Chingari App, said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given us the clarion call of ‘Vocal for Local’ and Chingari has been developed completely in India. It is the best replacement for video entertainment apps by foreign firms. Chingari isn’t a clone of some foreign app but has been designed in keeping with the needs of Indian users. It is time for all of us to switch to Indian made apps like Chingari.”

According to a statement, “The primary difference between Chingari and TikTok is that the former pays a content creator on the basis of how viral the video becomes. For every video that you upload on the Chingari app, you get points (per view) which can be redeemed for money. So, unlike TikTok, Chingari is rewarding for creators as they dont just get fame but also money for the content they upload on the app”.
