Cleartrip, a global online travel company has decided to lay off up to 100 of its employees in India.
The India based company has seen a significant plunge in its business over the last few years. Reportedly, the slump has been due to increased competition after the merger of its rivals in the field MakeMyTrip and Ibibo took place. Moreover, there has been a decline in the online booking of hotels and flights in the country. The company is now planning to ramp down operations in India to give more focus to its business in the Middle East.
Though, Cleartrip has denied the claims saying that there has rather been an increase of 25 per cent in the number of employees in India.
