Ahead of Telangana polls, Congress party on Saturday has ensured to provide platform to minorities, following which out of the 94 seats Congress got in grand alliance, the grand old party has fielded 7 Muslim candidates. Mohammed Ali Shabbir will contest from Kamareddy, Esa Misri from Chandrayangutta, Kaleemuddin Baba from Bahadurpura), Mohammed Ghouse from Charminar and Feroz Khan from Nampally. Names of Osman al-Hajari from Karwan and Tahir bin Hamdan from Nizamabad (urban).
With latest’s list, the Congress has released names of contestants for 88 constituencies. Congress-led grand opposition is comprised of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and Communist Party of India (CPI). As per the seat sharing agreement of grand alliance of Telangana for 2018 polls, Congress will contest on 93 seats, TDP 14, TJS 8 and CPI 3, for the 119-member Telangana assembly.
