The major opposition party in Jharkhand, Congress has launched preparations for the parliamentary and state assembly elections scheduled next year (2019) by forming the Pradesh Election Committee on Friday.
Pradesh Election Committee will be headed by Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) President Dr Ajoy Kumar. Apart from JPCC Chief, former PCC Chiefs Sukhadev Bhagat, Pradeep Balmuchu, Sarfaraj Ahmed and many more are included in the election committee.

Jharkhand is key to 14 Lok Sabha seats and state assembly comprised of 81 members. The four major opposition parties in Jharkhand including Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P) are in talks to form a grand alliance in the state.
