Congress loses last bastion in the North-East

Himanta Biswa Sarma, convener of the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) has achieved the task of “Congress Mukt Northeast” he was entrusted with. Congress loses its last bastion in the North-East as according to the Mizoram Assembly Elections 2018, the rule is going to go back to the Mizo National Front.

Congress, which was not so many years had five states of North-East under its rule, will lose its existence in that part of India. Congress at one point was ruling Assam, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Manipur.
