The entire nation has been grappled in shock after a woman was raped by a group of 6 men in front of her husband who was helpless at the situation. While the probe in on, the highly sensitive matter could not be prevented from getting politicised. Many leader have blamed one or the other for the rise in crime in the state.
Amid the growing spat, Congress president Rahul Gandhi along with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will visit Thanagaazi on May 15 to meet Alwar rape victim.
On April 26, the victim along with her husband, were stopped, abducted and dragged to an isolated place where the woman was raped. The alleged rapists also filmed the act and uploaded that on Youtube, which was removed on the commission direction.
The couple had approached the police, which allegedly did not act citing lack of manpower and time due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
CM Gehlot on Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of playing politics on the Alwar gang-rape and using the issue as a political tool to draw mileage in the Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to the media at his residence, he said Modi had been targeting the Rajasthan Chief Minister in one way or the other wherever he goes be it Jodhpur, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh or Udaipur.
