Constable in washroom, rape accused escapes police custody

Bhatinda: A woman who was accused of rape, allegedly escaped from the police custody. The accused fled from the Bhatinda civil hospital while she was in the police custody.

The accused, Amandeep Kaur (25) was brought to the hospital for a medical check-up. The police have taken her into the custody after she was accused of rape.

The police had sent the accused to the hospital for a check-up with constable Manjit Kaur. As per the reports, the accused escaped from the spot when the constable has gone to the washroom. When she returned she found the accused absconding. The constable then alarmed the hospital about the happening.

The woman along with her husband is accused of rape charges and criminal conspiracy. In January, the couple was brought to the Bhatinda jail after they were accused of rape and criminal conspiracy. The senior superintendent of police also told that the police are been making a constant effort to nab the accused and the constable on duty was suspended for negligence.

Earlier also a similar incident happened where a Bhatinda couple was nabbed by the Delhi police after a long chase. The couple was booked under several cheating cases and always used to escape from the police custody. The couple has duped various people and also was the offenders of court.
