Does hand sanitizers really kill 99.99% of germs?

As news broke out over the weekend about India’s rising rate of Coronavirus case, shoppers have stocked themselves with hand sanitizers and thus it has lead to high price rate of hand sanitizers.

Do not worry, we are here to help you and you can be a good learner by going through all these steps as you can make hand sanitizers at home now. You can find the basic ingredients in any drug store and most grocery stores.

Here is the list of what you need:

1. 2/3 cup Isopropyl alcohol

2. 1/3 cup of aloe vera gel

3. Essential oil

4. A small mixing bowl

5. A spoon

6. An empty container

Here are the steps how to make it:

In a mixing bowl, stir Isopropyl alcohol and aloe vera gel together until well blended.

Add 8-10 drops of scented essential oil (optional, but nice!). Stir to incorporate.

Pour the homemade hand sanitizer into an empty container and seal. Now to remember it what I kept in the bottle you can write “hand sanitizer” on a piece of masking tape and affix to the bottle.

This recipe makes a sanitizer that slightly exceeds that alcohol content at 60.66%, so follow the proportions exactly. If you want a sanitizer with a higher alcohol percentage, decrease the amount of aloe vera to 1/4 cup.
