Coronavirus in UP: Family in quarantine, thieves broke in house; loot valuables worth lakhs

The family claimed that they have lost the valuables worth Rs 4.5 lakh.

Banda: A family living in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda was in shock when they found their house had been burgled while they were in COVID-19 quarantine in hospital.

The family alleges that thieves broke into their house and stole valuables worth lakhs.

They further added to it that the police station is at a distance of 500 metres and still the robbery took place when they all were in quarantine centres as their home is in the region which is declared as a hotspot.

The man who lives in Hidhari Mardanaka, was admitted to the Medical college, said that he went to quarantine centre and was there for 14 days and when he returned he found out that the burglars broke in his house and took all the jewellery, silver bangles of a child and Rs 84 thousand cash.

The family claimed that they have lost the valuables worth Rs 4.5 lakh.

They further said that both the brothers who were living in the same house were robbed. The family returned back to their home on Friday and found out that the things in their house were scattered and did not find the money and jewellery.

The city CO Alok Mishra said that the police is looking into the matter, he further added that police are investigating the spot and trying to nab the thieves.
