Coronavirus cases in UP LIVE Updates: With 132 more people testing positive for coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, the number of total cases in the state has increased to around 2,500. So far 44 deaths have been reported and 698 patients have been discharged from hospitals after treatment in the state.
The cases have increased because of migrant daily wagers returning to their native places and this is why the government has issued detailed order for the screening of such workers. According to the order, all migrant workers will be screened and those found healthy will be home quarantined for 21 days.
Meanwhile, the third coronavirus case has been reported from Gorakhpur – home district of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. With this, the total number of positive cases in Gorakhpur now stands at three. The man who has been tested positive came to Gorakhpur from Mumbai in an ambulance. He, along with two others, was quarantined at the district hospital. Their samples were sent for test and later he was found positive for deadly COVID-19.
Similarly in Deoria, a 32-year-old man returned from Mumbai and was quarantined at a hospital. He was later found to be coronavirus positive.
Considering this, the Gorakhpur administration has decided to implement strict rules during the third phase of lockdown starting from May 4. Though Gorakhpur and nearby districts are in the orange zone, the government has decided to give relaxation considering them the red zone.
The arrangements to take 1200 students who were stranded here amid COVID-19 lockdown are underway. Uttar Pradesh Corporation buses are ready. The students have been informed through text messages and phone calls: Suhas Ily, District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar.
