A day after recording the highest single-day spike in the novel coronavirus cases, the number of cases climbed to 7447 on Saturday while the death toll stood at 239, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

After the the meeting of PM Modi with the state CMs through video conference concluded, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: “PM has taken correct decision to extend lockdown. Today, India’s position is better than many developed countries because we started lockdown early. If it is stopped now, all gains would be lost. To consolidate, it is imp to extend it.”

A day after recording the highest single-day spike in the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, the number of cases climbed to 7447 on Saturday while the death toll stood at 239, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry. As many as 642 persons have recovered from the disease as of yet. Maharashtra continues to remain the worst-affected state and is followed by Tamil Nadu and Delhi.
