The country is currently witnessing coronavirus lockdown which has been extended till May 3. The non-essential goods and services which included liquor have been suspended but ever since there have been bizarre incidents been reported.
In a recent, five cases of liquor were stolen from a lorry while transporting to the godown of Beverages Corporation here on Friday. As per the complaint, the liquor bottles were snitched from one of the two lorries which were parked in front of a petrol pump at Mamam.
Tarpaulin sheet draped over the lorry was found torn. It is assumed that the thieves stole the liquor by tearing the tarpaulin.
As per the media report, the lockdown was imposed when the lorries were on the way to the godown. From March 22, many lorries loaded with the various materials were stuck midway. Many lorries are parked near the Coconut complex at Mamam.

Only two lorries to the BevCo godown were parked in front of the petrol pump. The lorry workers noticed the robbery on Friday morning and lodged a complaint with Attingal police.
The lorry workers who are stranded here have been demanding security from police and excise. But nobody took action to provide security to the workers and the vehicles loaded with various materials.
As per the locals, the CCTV cameras in the nearest buildings will be helpful for police to nab the culprits.
