A Hyderabad local court on Friday granted permission to Swami Aseemanand to travel out of Hyderabad till May 17.

The court asked Aseemanand to return to Hyderabad by May 17 for the Mecca Masjid blast trial.

On April 13, Swami Aseemanand had moved a local court seeking its permission to go out of Hyderabad to see his ailing mother and for his own medical treatment.

Aseemanand, an accused in 2007 Mecca Masjid bomb blast case, also filed a petition in the court of the additional metropolitan sessions judge seeking the permission to appear in a court in Panchakula on April 28 in connection with a case pending against him there.

On March 23, Special Judge Ravinder Reddy granted bail to Aseemanand and Bharat Mohanlal Rateshwar on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 each.

They were also directed not to leave Hyderabad without the court’s permission and remain present for the trial when required.

Swami Aseemanand, was arrested on 19 November 2010 from Haridwar in connection with the blast at the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad.

The Mecca Masjid bombing, which occurred on May 18 2007, had killed nine people.
